Our Alabama Bryant-Denny Stadium Series Baseball Story & Inspiration:
ROLL TIDE. Denny Stadium first opened its doors 93 years ago in 1929, and was named after George H. Denny, the school's president (1912 until 1932). The stadium was renamed after veteran head coach and alumni Paul "Bear" Bryant by the state legislature in 1975. Bryant coached the Tide for seven more seasons, until 1982, and is one of just a few Division I coaches to have coached in a stadium named after him. The Bryant-Denny collaboration indeed!
Bryant–Denny Stadium is an outdoor stadium on the University of Alabama's campus in Tuscaloosa. Bryant–Denny Stadium is the home of the Southeastern Conference's Alabama Crimson Tide football team (SEC). For the 2008 season, each SEC team's home field received two identical SEC logos. The primary color for the logos at Bryant–Denny was Alabama's crimson. These logos were, and continue to be, put in the same areas as the previous logos.
Until the turn of the millennium, Bryant–Denny Stadium's field had merely the necessary markers for play. As some stadiums began to include other elements into the field, such as logos, Alabama chose to maintain the field design classic. Bryant–Denny had no branding at midfield and no logos at the 25-yard lines until the 2002 season, both of which are now typical in many stadiums. The end zone logo was just "ALABAMA" in a white block script. Wow! Bryant-Denny has withstood the rhythm.
Change is not bad. During the 2002 season, a large white script "A" was placed in the center. The field design underwent considerable changes beginning with the 2004 season. At midfield, the massive white script "A" logo was replaced with a crimson script "A" logo surrounded by a crimson ring with "Alabama Crimson Tide" written around it. The end zone designs have also been changed to a scarlet block typeface with a white outline.
Alabama Bryant-Denny Stadium is a timeless classic that has not been distracted by a new generation. On the other hand, we love how little the stadium has changed. Alabama Bryant-Denny Stadium collectibles look perfect inside your home or anywhere in the corner of your home.
